Australian Interactive Games Fund updates

Last month there was big news when Federal Arts Minister Simon Crean announced the $20 million Australia Interactive Games Fund. A lot of people are excited about the possibilities of not only the funding for game development, but also the federal recognition of games as an important cultural and artistic medium.

This morning, Screen Australia announced the consultation forums that are happening around the country. Screen Australia is hosting these forums to talk to the games sector to discuss the fund and the upcoming options paper to be released on Monday 10th December.

Currently there is no plan for a Perth event, but you can RSVP for their webinar to be held on Tuesday 18th December. RSVPs are essential, and details can be found on the Screen Australia Games Consult page. (And don’t forget to allow for timezones!) We’ll make sure to let you all know if there are any changes to their forum schedule.
