Those of you who missed out on last month’s Short Talks by Perth game developers can now watch some of them online! Unfortunately, we weren’t able to record all of the talks (due to NDAs and sensitive information).
Aranda Morrison from Gnomic Studios spoke about developing Square Off! for Xbox Live Indie Games (XBLIG) Marketplace. He presented a lot of great information for XBLIG developers wondering how to market their games (eg. timing is vital!):
Saxon Druce from Binary Space spoke about development of Class 3 Outbreak, a web-based flash game featuring zombies and Google Maps. He candidly touched upon a range of topics including: getting Dugg; last-minute server reconfiguration; approaches to making money from a free game; and player attention spans:
Let’s Make Games would like to join our speakers in sending out a huge “Thank you!” to local videographers Richard Kong and Benny Goodtimes for recording these talks and getting them online!
Haha Ben, you have to officially change your name to goodtimes now I think. Then have a son and call him Gordon Goodtimes, alliteration FTW.
I considering referring to Rich as Deceptikong, but decided to just use whatever names they chose to use for their respective online presences. 😉
