LMG Statement on Community Conduct

Let’s Make Games (LMG) in a non-profit association that supports the game development community of Western Australia. Games are a common thread that link people from all walks of life, and in line with this LMG actively supports a safe environment for all to come together around this craft.

We would like to take this opportunity to reiterate that harassment, intimidation and abuse have no place in the games community.

Members of the game development industry in Western Australia, whether experienced veterans or aspiring students, are expected to conduct themselves with maturity and professionalism. Similarly, we encourage gamers to be respectful of others in this space, players and creators alike, as this is a community formed around a shared appreciation of the medium.

Whether you look at games on a global scale or locally, this is neither a new nor young industry. Games have been made in our state alone for over 25 years, and we require diverse, creative and inquisitive people in order to continue to mature and grow. It is solely through the support and efforts of compassionate local developers that this community exists today; individuals who refuse to exhibit a basic level of common decency towards others are not welcome at our events or in community spaces.

We would like to thank the developers of Western Australia who are working to improve the industry, and who stand against racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia and any other form of discrimination. Let’s Make Games will endeavour to create a positive and safe environment for those who enjoy making games and experiences.

We encourage all game-makers and players within our community to support one-another, so that we can continue to appreciate games together. More details on our Community Guidelines are available on our website.
