Job Opportunities: Software Engineer & QA

Titanium Studios are working on the latest escapades of the alien Abe in Oddworld: Soulstorm, and are searching for local developers to join their team for the project. If you have experience as a quality assurance tester, or in developing code for games or software, check it out!

About Titanium Studios

Titanium Studios is an independent game developer located in Perth, that specialise in ports and target most modern console, mobile and personal computer platforms. The studio is part of the global game development team developing Oddworld: Soulstorm.

The Jobs

Software Engineer (Mid-Snr)

(Full-time, fixed 6-12 month contract)

  • Two years experience developing code for high quality, commercial video game(s), or
  • Three years experience developing code for other demanding software applications, and, a demonstrated passion for game development such as personal projects, game jams, etc.
  • Fluency in C#.

Software Tester

(Full-time, initial fixed term 6 month contract)

  • 3 months previous job experience as a software tester.
  • Please do not apply for this position unless you have held a paying job that involved testing software. Experience as a volunteer tester of open betas will not qualify you for this position.

Bungarra Software are on the look out for developers with a range of skills to help build their latest creations. The Fremantle-based studio is behind The Surfer series on Playstation 3, and are keen to offer opportunities for more Perth game makers as they take on more projects on more consoles.

Job Opportunity: Game Developer

“We are a Perth-based game developer that specialises in strategy games. In 2017, we partnered with UK publisher Slitherine Games and Universal Studios to release “Battlestar Galactica Deadlock” on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Unity programmer to join our team. The initial contract is for 6 months, with the potential for extension. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining all aspects the non-PC versions of existing and unannounced games.

This is an on-site role in our studio in the Perth northern suburbs.”

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the games run at their absolute best on current generation console platforms
  • Manage the task of porting games to new platforms
  • Develop tools and technology to assist design and QA team implement gameplay features
  • Enhance and add features to existing game systems
  • Collaborate with other engineers and developers, and abide by teams standards and best practices

Assets:

  • Experience developing games or software with the Unity3D game engine
  • Experience working with non-PC devices, such as embedded systems or mobile devices
  • Double bonus points if you’ve worked with a current generation console!
  • Either a BS in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.

Job Opportunity: QA Tester

Black Lab Games, the Perth studio behind Battlestar Galactica Deadlock and Star Hammer: The Vanguard Prophecy, are on the look out for a Quality Assurance Tester to join their team. Late January they put a call out for expressions of interest for the role, so if you think you’re up to the challenge get your application in asap!

“If you enjoy breaking games – and helping put them back together in better shape – and want to work with a team with a proven track record of success, we’d like to hear from you!

Here’s what you’ll be doing:
  • Test new and existing game features, and assist the development team with resolving bugs and improving the user experience.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of QA testing plans
  • Be an advocate for quality, ensuring the best experience for players
Ideally, you will:
  • Be able to communicate well with programmers and designers in a small team environment
  • Have a logical and thorough approach to problem solving
  • Have past professional experience as a software tester.
  • Have a deep familiarity with games and gaming conventions on multiple platforms
Bonus Points:
  • You’ll also be a fan of strategy games (or at least have an understanding of the genre).

We are looking for someone to join on a part time basis initially, with the possibility to extend to a full time role in the future. The role is based in our studio in the Perth northern suburbs.
