As with all of our events, the primary purpose is always to provide a casual environment for local game developers and enthusiasts to meet, exchange ideas and knowledge, catch-up, and generally just have a good time.

Don’t be afraid that there will be nothing for you to do just because you are planning on entering the competition!

We are very happy to be returning to The Velvet Lounge in Mount Lawley (they are always so good to us). Be sure to bring your iPhone, DS, or PSP (and your games!) if you would like to partake in wireless multi-player gaming. Otherwise, just bring yourself (and some friends) to have a look at various iPhone games developed right here in Perth!

Japanese RPG fans may be especially excited to know that GameTraders (Carillon City and Carousel) will be bringing along two PSPs for the exclusive pre-release demonstration of Dissidia: Final Fantasy! We’ll have one of the PSPs hooked up to a projector so everyone can see what the game is like (even if they don’t get a chance to play)!

• Location: Victoria Park Bowling Club (18 Kent Street, East Vic Park)
• Cost: $10 pre-purchase (any remaining tickets will be $15 at the door)
• Food: BYO food (no drinks) or order pizza ($5 per half) on the night!

Get some friends together, grab a table, bring food, and have a good time! Please note that handicaps will apply for teams of more than 8 people, so try to form teams of 8 or less.

The schedule for the night will be:

• 7:00pm: Doors open
• 7:30pm: Pizza orders must be in ($5 per half)
• 8:00pm – 10:00pm: Trivia (4 rounds with half-time intermission)
• 11:00pm: Venue closes

There are some great prizes lined up and you don’t need to be a video-game genius to win something. The questions will be varied and we’ll have door prizes and fun challenges that everyone can participate in!

Show Us Your Bits - May Mixer and Showcase

There will be a projector showcasing some of the GameJam projects – if you would like your team’s project in the showcase, please be sure to notify us in your RSVP so that we can make sure to include your entry in the schedule.

With that in mind, this month’s event will be an opportunity to learn about GameJam, play previous entries, and find some like-minded people to jam with!
