Perth Games Festival Launches (Press Release)

Perth Games Festival Launches
Perth Town Hall on Saturday 11th October, 10:30am to 4:00pm

Game lovers, aspiring game makers and seasoned developers hit the Perth Game Festival this year to immerse themselves in the latest gaming developments, as well as the old-school classics.

The festival is run by Let’s Make Games Inc., a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting the thriving gaming community in Western Australia.

Festival Director Anthony Sweet wants kids, grown ups and game lovers from all walks of life to be part of the free event.

“We’re about inclusiveness,” he said. “Whatever you make and define as a game, we’re happy to have you on board.”

Budding game makers of every age will have the opportunity to speak directly with people in the industry. Plus, there will be talks about what it takes to get both feet in the gaming door, as well as information for parents about gaming.

According to Mr Sweet, the Perth gaming community has a growing reputation.

“The WA gaming community is recognised around the country, and even internationally as a really great healthy scene, and I want people to know this,” he said. “I really want people to come and find out that being able to make games is something anyone can do these days.”

All games are created equal at the festival, which features computer games, mobile games, tablet games, console games, arcade games, virtual reality games, board games and even card games.
